This is for the entity whose turnover is more than 20 crores for producing, trading, or storing the food products up to a specific limit prescribed by the law.

What are the documents necessary for the FSSAI State License in India?


Basic Registration
·         An identity proof that consists of a photograph

What is the process for the FSSAI State License in India?

The registration process for FSSAI State License are as follow-
  •       It is initiated by submitting Form A application to food and safety department.
  •       The application can be accepted or rejected within seven days from the date of filing by the department stating the reason for rejection.
  •      If the application is accepted, the food and safety department will grant the registration number with the photo identity of the applicant.
  •    The food business operator will have to display the registration certificate during business hours

What is the validity of the FSSAI State License in India?

All food-related business owners should obtain a valid FSSAI State License depending on the type of food license, i.e., FSSAI State License and Central FSSAI License. The validity of an FSSAI Food license is for one or five years as selected by the food business operator.

What are the Consequences of Non-Compliance?

Registered or licensed person under the FSSAI has to comply with the rules and regulation under the Food and Safety Standards Act, 2006. Food safety officer regulates the inspection of the food business and identifies the level of compliance with the law using a checklist.
 Based on the compliance level, the food safety officer marks the compliance as:

The food safety officer might issue an improvement notice as per Sec 32 of the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006. The decision can be challenged by appealing to Food safety appellate tribunal or high court.
