Procedure to get Fire Department NOC

• The applicant can apply either online through the official website or offline by submitting the hard copy of the application and supporting documentation to the relevant state fire NOC authority.
• Following documents must be enclosed with an application whether it is offline or online:
• Copy of plan layout issued by necessary building authority
• Model of building
• Supporting document certified by the architect
• Self-certified copy of PAN and Aadhar of applicant
• The recognized authority shall issue certified document for verifying electric wiring and its quality
• Upon the receipt of the application, officer forward the same to the concerned state inspector within the jurisdiction of that state
• On receiving the orders from an officer, inspector thereafter shall visit the site/factory/premise/building and inspect that all the necessary equipment are installed, and the necessary arrangement for Fire Safety is in place
• Once the inspector issues its report with everything cleared, all fire arrangements in place and is fully satisfied, fire brigade inspector will issue a fire clearance certificate.
• NOC issued remains valid depending upon the category of license such as:
• 3 years for commercial NOC
• 5 years for residential NOC

Requirements for obtaining Fire Department NOC

Following are the key points to be checked at every stage for getting Fire Department NOC:

1. Pre-construction stage:

• The application must cover vast areas of details such as business activity and its nature, contact details of the applicant, address of the business, etc.
• Make sure the application is self-attested by the applicant
• The sanctioned plan must be attached with the application, and such building plan must depict the fire fighting system is in place
• Technical experts from the fire department also visit the site to conduct a fire safety audit after which provisional NOC is issued
• The business owner must adhere to the recommendations and standards issued by the fire department

     2.  Post-construction stage:

• Owner submit the declaration and compliance report after which technical officer revisit the site for re-inspection
• After re-inspection, technical officers forward his recommendations to head of department to proceed ahead for issuance of final NOC
• Thereafter all the decision remains with the head of the department whether to issue final NOC or not

Renewal of Fire department NOC

Provisions applied on renewal of fire department NOC such as:

• A renewal application must be made to the same authority to whom fresh application was made before
• Attach declaration by competent authority certifying necessary installation are in proper condition
• Following charges are levied in case the business owner fails to renew the license within the prescribed time limit:
• If delayed for one week: No charges
• Delayed for 7 to 15 days: INR 5 per day
• Delayed for beyond 15 days: INR 15 per day
